Frenchtons are a fantastic hybrid breed that is growing in popularity. If you're considering a frenchton you probably want to know how much you should expect to spend.

Frenchton Puppies cost about $2000. The price for the puppies does range, however, from around $1000 up to as much as $6000. The price of the puppies depends on a number of factors, including the breeder, color, and bloodline.

We'll go over the different factors for puppy cost below so that you can find the perfect puppy for you.

Why Do Frenchton Puppies Cost So Much?

Frenchtons are a hybrid breed of dog that is 1/2 French Bulldog and 1/2 Boston Terrier. French Bulldogs are an extremely popular breed of dog, placing number 2 on the American Kennel Club's “Most Popular Dog Breeds of 2021.” The problem with French Bulldogs. however, is their bad health. The breed is known for having a number of health complications due to its small proportions.

Frenchton breeders have solved some of those problems by crossbreeding them with Boston Terriers. By doing this, they are able to create a dog with a slightly longer snout, which improves respiration and gives the dogs an improved skeletal structure at their hips.

Frenchtons are healthier than French Bulldogs, while also retaining many of the wonderful traits that make both French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers fantastic pets.

Since Frenchtons are not an AKC registered breed, there are not as many dedicated frenchton breeders as there are for purebred dogs. Many Frenchtons are bred by French Bulldog breeders whose primary focus is on purebred dogs. This can make them more difficult to find in some areas which could affect their price.

Frenchtons are quickly growing in popularity, which raises the price of the puppies.

How Does the Breeder Affect price?

The type of breeder you go to will make one of the biggest differences in the price you pay for a Frenchton puppy. There are 3 different types of breeders that sell Frenchton puppies: puppy mills, backyard breeders, and quality breeders.

Frenchton puppies can be found in puppy mills and pet stores, but we don't recommend looking there for your next puppy. You never know what conditions your puppy are raised in if you go this route. Frenchton puppies available in pet stores will often be sold at high prices, and considering the risks you are taking getting a puppy from a pet store, it is not worth it.

Backyard breeders are a common way for people to get new puppies. A Frenchton puppy from a backyard breeder will be sold for around $1500. Be very careful when considering purchasing a puppy from a backyard breeder. Make sure you're able to ask lots of questions about how the puppies are raised, and ideally see where the puppies are raised. You can get a fantastic family dog from a family breeder for a good price if you're careful when picking the breeder.

A quality breeder provides the highest quality puppies you can get. You can usually be sure you're getting a dog that has good genetics and is well taken care of by going with a quality breeder. You will end up paying more for a Frenchton from a popular breeder. A local breeder of French Bulldogs and Frenchtons in Ohio charges between $2000 and $6000 for a Frenchton puppy depending on the sex and color of the puppy.

You may also be able to find a Frenchton at your local shelter. Frenchtons are very popular dogs and are not likely to stay in any shelter long, but if you do find a frenchton there you will save a lot of money.

How Does the Coat Color Affect Price?

Many breeders will charge more for certain coat colors, especially colors that are harder to find.

Frenchtons can come in several different colors. You can generally expect to pay a lower amount for puppies that are a solid color, pied, or brindle.

Merle is a very desirable color due to its rarety. Breeders that want to breed for the merle color have to test the parents for certain genetic traits in order to reliably produce a few merle puppies in each litter. When you combine those genetic traits with all of the other traits, a breeder looks for it, and it takes a lot of work to get everything right. A merle puppy can go for around $5000. Chocolate Merle is an even rarer color and can fetch a higher price.

How Does The Bloodline Affect Price?

A Frenchton's bloodline can affect the price of the dog in some scenarios. Frenchtons are hybrid dogs, so the dog's pedigree is usually not as important to the owner as it is with some purebred dogs. However, a quality breeder will often charge more for a dog from a desirable bloodline.

If you are looking for a pet Frenchton, you should consider the health of the dog's bloodline so you won't encounter unfortunate problems down the road. It could be a good idea to ask the breeder for a pedigree and genetic tests. This will help you to find a dog that is free of genetic problems and disorders. If you buy a dog from a quality breeder, there is little reason to be too concerned about getting a showroom-quality dog.

If you are looking for a dog to breed, you will want to pay extra for a dog that comes from a really good bloodline so you can start your line off on the right foot.

Are Frenchtons Good Dogs?

Frenchton puppies are fantastic dogs. They are known for being very good family dogs, and both French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers are considered good apartment dogs because of how small they are. Frenchtons tend to have low exercise requirements compared to other breeds and tend to be quiet dogs. They are very sweet and protective of their family.

Frenchtons, being hybrid dogs, also gives them the benefits of being less prone to the recessive disorders that many purebred breeds suffer from, including French Bulldogs.

Frenchtons do cost more than some other breeds of dogs, but the price is very comparable to other popular hybrid breeds like the Goldendoodle.
